Information We Collect
CountryCount collects and stores only the information you provide in the app: your visited countries, visit dates, and any notes or photos you add. This data is stored locally on your device and, if enabled, synced via iCloud to your other Apple devices.
Data Usage
Your data is used exclusively to provide the CountryCount experience - tracking your visits, displaying your travel history, and syncing across your devices. We do not analyze your data for advertising, share it with third parties, or use it for any purpose beyond app functionality.
Local Storage and iCloud
All data is stored locally on your device using SwiftData. If you enable iCloud, your data syncs across your Apple devices using CloudKit. We do not have access to your iCloud data. Apple's CloudKit architecture ensures your synced information is encrypted and accessible only to you through your Apple ID.
No Third-Party Tracking
CountryCount does not include analytics SDKs, advertising networks, crash reporting services that transmit data externally, or any third-party code that collects your data. Your data never leaves your device except for iCloud sync to your own devices.
Maps and Location
CountryCount does not request or use location services. The map pins shown in the app are based on country reference data, not your device location.
Notifications
CountryCount may send notifications through Apple's system services. These notifications are generated on-device and do not transmit any personal data to third-party servers. You can disable notifications at any time in the app settings or iOS Settings.
Data Retention
Your data remains on your device and iCloud account until you choose to delete it. You can remove individual entries in the app or delete all data by deleting the app. If you use iCloud sync, deleting the app will not remove data from iCloud. To fully delete iCloud data, go to iOS Settings > [Your Name] > iCloud > Manage Storage > CountryCount.
Children's Privacy
CountryCount does not knowingly collect information from children under 13. The app is intended for general audiences.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this policy.
