Welcome to ShelfLife ("we," "our," or "us"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring the security of your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use our mobile application ShelfLife (the "App").

Information We Collect

We do not collect or store any records created by users, including "shelves" and "joys", "health", "photos" or any information inputted when "adding Joy". All user-created content, including your name and workout data imported from Apple Health, is stored locally on the user's device and in their private iCloud account, which is only accessible through the App. We have no access to your personal content, name, or health data. Automatically Collected Information: User ID (non-identifying), Country (non-identifying), Purchase history (subscription duration and pricing). We do NOT collect your name, email, contacts, browsing history, or any other personal identifying information.

How We Use Your Information

Primary Uses: Core Functionality (enable app features and sync with your private cloud), Service Analytics (understand usage patterns through non-identifying data), Purchase Management (track subscription status and duration). Data Processing Basis: Consent (when you use the app), Legitimate Interest (core functionality and service improvements), Contract Performance (deliver subscription services).

How We Store and Protect Your Information

Local Storage: All user-created content (joy entries, photos, links, metadata, your name, and workout data from Apple Health) is stored exclusively on your device and your private iCloud account. We have no access to this content. Minimal Data Collection: Only non-identifying user ID, country, and purchase history are collected for essential app functionality. Security Measures: Your content, including personal information and health data, is protected by your device security and iCloud encryption. Apple Health data is imported directly to your device and iCloud without passing through our servers. Data Retention: User content remains under your complete control. Automatically collected data is retained only as long as necessary for service provision.

Third-Party Services

Apple Services: App Store for distribution and subscription management, and Apple Health for workout data import (stored locally and in your iCloud only). Cloud Storage: Your private iCloud for syncing your content across devices - we cannot access this data. Analytics: Privacy-focused, anonymous analytics using only non-identifying information (opt-out available in settings). Health Data: Workout data from Apple Health is accessed with your explicit permission and stored only on your device and in your iCloud account. No Third-Party Data Sharing: We do not share data with advertisers, sell information, or integrate with social media platforms.

Your Rights and Choices

Data Access and Control: Full control over all user-created content through the app interface. Export or delete content at any time, or uninstall app to remove all local data. Privacy Settings: Control notifications and opt-out of anonymous analytics. Account Management: Manage subscription through Apple App Store. Children's Privacy: Suitable for all ages, no personal data collection from users of any age.

International Users & Contact

ShelfLife complies with GDPR, CCPA, and PIPEDA with privacy-by-design principles. Since we don't collect personal user content, your data privacy is inherently protected regardless of location. The minimal data we collect (non-identifying user ID, country, purchase history) is processed in accordance with applicable privacy laws.
